We were thrilled to welcome the Minister for Industry and Science, Ed Husic MP as he formally launched consultation for the country’s first National Battery Strategy. Our newly built 4,000 square metre facility, Renaissance One, in Tomago provided the perfect backdrop for the announcement on Friday.
We welcome this consultation period and wholeheartedly agree with the Minister when he states, “A coherent, national approach to the development and uptake of emerging technologies won’t just deliver economic growth and jobs, but also help safeguard our national wellbeing.”
The announcement followed a tour of our current facility and demonstration of our latest Australian battery technology that is shipping to customers across the country today. Joining Minister Husic was Meryl Swanson MP, Member for Paterson, Dan Repacholi MP, Member for the Hunter and Kate Washington MP, Member for Port Stephens.
These are exciting times, and with Minister Husic’s, “if we mine it here, we should make it here” approach, we are encouraged by this shared vision of creating an all Australian battery from cells to solutions.
