As such, we’re thrilled to announce our newest leap forward: our full Battery Stewardship Council (BSC) membership. In taking this significant step, we proudly commit as both a Battery Designer and Manufacturer.

Why the BSC?
The BSC is all about responsible battery management – from its design inception to the end of its life. The aim? To ensure that batteries are created with purpose and conclude their life cycle in the most environmentally friendly manner.
Our Role in this Journey
As Battery Designers, our commitment will be evident in our designs – crafting batteries prioritising non-toxic materials that are less flammable, rechargeable, and reusable wherever feasible. As Battery Manufacturers, it’s about the complete life cycle. It starts with ensuring the highest standards of safety during the manufacturing process. But it doesn’t stop there. We’re dedicated to clear labelling, allowing consumers to know precisely how to recycle the batteries and ensuring they are safe to disassemble.
Why Battery Stewardship is Crucial
We’re living in a rapidly evolving world. Australians’ dependence on batteries, especially for electric vehicles and renewable energy systems, is growing exponentially. However, with this growth comes responsibility. Currently, the recycling rate for non-automotive batteries in Australia is a mere 3%. In comparison to other OECD countries, we’re trailing behind.
Our commitment to the BSC is more than just upholding our reputation as a leading battery manufacturer. It’s about addressing the immediate need to handle the burgeoning waste stream, supporting local governments burdened by battery disposal, protecting community health, and ensuring valuable resources contained within batteries are recovered and reused.
