Energy Renaissance manufacturing line in New South Wales

the company

An Australian defence technology business, built around cybersecure battery expertise.

Based in Sydney, Australia, with engagements across the US, Asia and Europe. A decade of fielded, defence-grade battery management code sits behind both our products and our engineering services.

01

What we are

A product company with a services capability, not a consultancy with a battery.

Energy Renaissance Defence designs, codes and builds sovereign energy systems for defence platforms. super6T/e, superBMS and superSentinel are the business. The engineering team behind them is also available to solve battery management problems on other platforms.

The work is deliberately narrow. One class of problem, worked for a decade: how to make a lithium-ion battery safe, inspectable and cybersecure in an environment that retires most electronics.

A decade on one problem

Defence programme milestones.

The engineering base was built over more than a decade. The defence programme below traces how it became a sovereign NATO 6T energy system with an evidence pathway procurement teams can review.

  1. 2020

    Strategic foundation

Defence-focused battery development and technical validation established.

  2. 2021

    Sovereign supply review

Australian sovereign supply positioning for security and procurement review.

  3. 2022

    Military certification progress

MIL-PRF-32565C certification process commenced for the NATO 6T standard.

  4. 2023

    Platform evidence pathway

Vehicle, standards and integration evidence expanded for programme review.

  5. 2024

    Cybersecurity leadership

100% Australian-developed BMS code architecture advanced for defence energy systems.

  6. 2025

    Market entry readiness

Public super6T/e focus aligned to datasheet facts and evidence pathways.

03

One team, one roof

Six disciplines, one team.

The algorithms, the boards, the wiring and the enclosure are designed together rather than negotiated between suppliers. Integration problems get solved at the source, whichever discipline they fall in.

  1. 01

    Embedded software

Cell modelling, state estimation, balancing and deterministic fault protection.

  2. 02

    Electronics

Cell sensing chains, measurement accuracy and communications hardware.

  3. 03

    Power electronics

High-current switching, contactor control, pre-charge and protection stages.

  4. 04

    Electrical design

Harnessing, interconnects and isolation across the assembled system.

  5. 05

    PCB layout

Boards that hold their integrity under sustained shock, vibration and heat.

  6. 06

    Mechanical engineering

Enclosure fit, mounting, cooling and survivability in the real installation.

04

What we build

Three products, one control architecture.

energy system

super6T/e

The NATO 6T form-factor lithium iron phosphate energy system: 2,560 Wh at 25.6 V in a 24 kg package for platform-fit review.

control layer

superBMS

The cybersecure battery management platform inside the pack: secure boot, protected control logic, CAN telemetry and event logging.

see superBMS

field diagnostics

superSentinel

Handheld, self-contained Wi-Fi diagnostics for super6T and superBMS in the field, with no internet connection required.

If your platform needs battery management engineering rather than a battery, the same team takes that work on as a secondary capability. BMS engineering services.

05

How we operate

Sovereign supply and control.

Australian design, manufacturing support and field support give defence teams a local evidence pathway for Australian and allied programmes, and a second source for procurement teams managing import risk.

Evidence discipline.

Public claims stay tied to the current datasheet, controlled evidence requests and precise qualification language. Where a standard is in progress, it is described as in progress.

Local engineering
Australian-based design and development teams responding directly to defence requirements.
Quality assurance
Testing, qualification discipline and controlled evidence requests for procurement review.
Platform integration support
Vehicle-fit review, mission profile analysis and integration pathways handled locally.
Supply chain control
Visibility and control over materials, components and prototype development.
